Del Tin Viking Swords
Del Tin swords are known throughout the world for their high quality and historical accuracy. Since 1965 they have been manufacturing swords in their shop in Maniago Italy. Over the years they have analysed a great number of original pieces found in museums and private collections and have reproduced them. Del Tin swords are in certain significant museums
such as the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds (UK) where they are also actively utilised in fighting demonstrations. They have also been used in such films as Braveheart and Robin Hood. All sword blades are made of well tempered Chrome-Vanadium steel with a hardness of 50HRC.
Fulvio Del Tin himself personally tempers the steel, a very delicate operation upon which the manufacture of a superior blade depends.

Historical Note:
What you see on tv and movies is not how swords were historically used during the Viking Age. One would only parry with their sword in the gravest of situations, and even then they would try to parry with the flat of the blade rather than the edge. The swords used in movies have very thick edges and could never be sharpened. A real sword with a sharp edge cannot parry like in the movies without being damaged. To defend against blows they would either block with shield or dodge the blow.
