Berserker Viking Shield

This is one of our favorite shields as it is budget friendly, but still has many traits of a historical shield.  Constructed from 1/4" thick plywood with a canvas covered face and back.  Face is painted black and red using an acrylic paint which looks like milk paint, back is painted black.  Shield boss is our 12ga hammered-look boss which is riveted on and very strong.  The cedar handle is treated with boiled linseed oil and riveted on.  Rim is natural rawhide attached with clinched copper nails.  30" in diameter and weighs only about 8lbs.  A very well-made shield that will function just like the originals.
