Boss is made to look hammered. 12ga steel. 8" outside diameter, inside diameter of dome is about 5.5". Dome is about 2" tall. 6 holes in boss are 1/4". Weighs about 1.5lbs. Imported from India and may have small amounts of rust.

better quality then expected
This was the only website i found that actually sold these bosses and at the price i paid i was expecting a mediocre quality but i was surprised to see how thick the steel was when i recieved it.

Shield Boss
I bought this for my son to build a viking shield in high school, the shield worked out very well. He is really happy with the boss. It arrived rather quickly too.

The item was as represented. A little greasy, of course. One or two problems: the rivets that were included with the boss were too short to be usable; they barely came to the top of the flange WITHOUT using the included washers. The rivet holes, supposed to be 1/4 inch, needed to be opened up just a fraction, to pass the rivets. Longer rivets, and slightly larger holes, nothing to prevent recommending a really good looking piece of hardware

This is a heavy 12g boss! Perfectly as shown/described. No rust because it is packed in grease. Completely happy with it!
