Historical Note:
While the Thor’s hammer pendant is the most popular Viking Age amulet, there were many other charms used during the time. These often depicted the gods, weapons, shields, animals, keys, symbols, and crosses. We can only guess at the meaning of most of these, but many were likely charms for protection, and some may have been powerful magical talismans.
