This handsome shield is painted black and somerset gold. Paint is acylic paint which imitates look of milk paint. 1/2" plywood is cut into planks for an authentic look. Thick canvas facing adds to strength. Back is stained ipswich pine.
14ga hammered shield boss. Boss is riveted on. Handle is cedar and riveted on. Grip has leather wrap. Rim is natural rawhide attachd with clinched copper nails.
28" in diameter and weighs about 8 pounds without removable shoulder strap.

Chieftain shield
I really like this shield! Ive had my eye on this for quite some time and when one became available I had to pull the trigger! Its very well constructed and the backstrap is a nice addition. Its made my collection complete
