This replica axe head is modeled after an original found in Gotland Sweden and dated to the 10th century. The cross cutout suggests the original owner was a Christian. Head is made from high carbon steel and edge is blunt (about 1.7mm).

Great axehead, and it fits nicely onto a standard axe or sledge shaft that you can find at any decent hardware store. It’s light, looks great, and it’s the right size to look proportional on a two-handed or single-handed shaft. If I had any complaint, it’s that the cross is a little TOO precise; it makes it look machine-made and too modern, but that’s just nitpicky.
