This beautiful and deadly sword is named after the elite Huskarl Viking warriors and made by Albion Swords. The hilt is closest to at type S and are investment cast in milde steel. The upper guard and pommel are riveted together just like the originals and have a very nice twisted silver wire decoration. The blade is a Geibig Type 3 and has a moderate taper in width and a fuller that tapers in width towards the point. These blades are dates to the second half of the 8th century through the second half of the 10th century. The sharpened blade is hand-ground from high-carbon steel to a fine satin finish and heat treated by hand. Grip is stabilized birch wrapped with cord and covered with high grade vegetable tanned calfskin. Overall length: 36.9" Blade length: 31" Grip length: 3 7/8" Weight: 2lbs 11oz.
